Dario Posada

BIO
Born in Medellín, Colombia, in 1975, Dario Posada is a Colombian artist based in Miami, Florida. His expressive practice explores human relationships, politics, religion, identity, and the social forces that shape contemporary life.
Growing up in an environment marked by violence had a profound influence on Posada’s artistic development. After witnessing the killing of a friend, he turned to painting as a means of confronting trauma, questioning injustice, and expressing ideas that were difficult to communicate through words.
Posada later earned a Master of Fine Arts from the National University of Colombia, where he refined a distinctive visual language built around satire, symbolism, emotional intensity, and social commentary. His paintings are often lively, incisive, and psychologically charged, addressing complex subjects without losing their human dimension.
In 2000, Posada received the Siemens Art Prize and was awarded an artist residency in Germany, an important milestone that helped introduce his work to an international audience.
Since then, his work has been exhibited in galleries and museums across Latin America, Europe, and the United States. Through bold composition and layered storytelling, Posada continues to examine the relationship between personal experience and broader political, cultural, and spiritual realities.
